Actually, Snakey is less cluttered in case of information flow between data values. In a grouped bar plot, it's harder to visually compare the differences in bars across different countries. If you order the bars in a group in descending order, countries will have different sports order from left to right, making it harder to compare. Also, it's harder to compare the aggregate of the values across different groups
